There are essentially two kinds of heath insurance: Fee-for-Service and Managed
Care. Although these plans differ, they both cover an array of medical, surgical
and hospital expenses. Most cover prescription drugs and some also offer dental
coverage.
- Fee-for-Service
These plans generally assume that the medical professional will be paid a
fee for each service provided to the patient. Patients are seen by a doctor
of their choice and the claim is filed by either the medical provider or the
patient.
- Managed Care
More than half of all Americans have some kind of managed-care plan1. Various
plans work differently and can include: health maintenance organizations
(HM0s), preferred provider organizations (PPOs) and point-of-service (POS)
plans. These plans provide comprehensive health services to their members
and offer financial incentives to patients who use the providers in the
plan.
We offer the following Health Insurance Plans Individual Health Insurance Plans also referred to as Copay Plans that offers the following benefits for covered expenses using in-network providers: ◾Convenient doctor office co-pays ◾Prescription drug coverage ◾Pediatric dental and vision coverage Short Term Medical Plans are beneficial for individuals seeking coverage in times of transition to bridge any gaps in health insurance coverage between open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act. However, this plan does not provide coverage for pre-existing conditions, although you have the flexibility to select your term of coverage from 30 days to 360 days, deductible and coinsurance that fit your budget.
A Health Savings Account (HSA) Plan is a lower-cost, high deductible health insurance plan and a savings account with important tax benefits that offers You: ◾Lower premiums than most co-pay plans ◾Savings account you can use for qualified health care expenses or retirement after age 65 ◾HSA contributions are 100% tax-deductible from gross income up to IRS limits Dental Plans offers: ◾Preventative care covered at 100% with NO deductible or waiting period for in-network dentists ◾Basic and Major Services have a $50 calendar-year deductible per person, with a maximum of 3 individual $50 deductibles per family ◾Additional dental procedures are rendered under these plans Vision Plans offer: ◾Eye exam once every 12 months ◾Frames once every 24 months ◾Selection of contacts and lenses are covered ◾Discounts on Laser Eye Surgery and Hearing Aids included
What are the types of disability insurance?
There are two types of disability policies: Short-Term Disability (STD) and
Long-Term Disability (LTD):
- Short-Term Disability policies (STD) have a waiting period of 0 to 14
days with a maximum benefit period of no longer than two years.
- Long-Term Disability policies (LTD) have a waiting period of several
weeks to several months with a maximum benefit period ranging from a few
years to the rest of your life.
